Well Idia that's it. The season is done. You got to the end of it first of all, which uh at one point it wasn't uh certain that you were going to make it to the end, was it? But you're here at Bram's Hatch uh and that's the uh the Sprint Challenge Cup. Over and done with.
SPEAKER_00It is, yes. I think it's uh we can't deny how hard it has been, but I think given that a few days before the season started with Media Day, I wasn't actually even entered to the championship to then be stood at the final race, final round, final weekend. Um well the car's still in one bit that can be sold for the new 9-11, hopefully, then uh yeah, it's been it has been a good year. I've really enjoyed it. It's I've it's been tricky, but I guess nothing good ever comes with without its challenges.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. And you said to me at the beginning of the year that this was going to be very much a learning curve with with this car. And what a lot of people may not appreciate is that when you are in that, that's sort of the the top half, middle top half of of any grid, that's where the biggest challenges are.
SPEAKER_00It is, and to be honest, these cars are so delicate, you do one tiny little input and it really doesn't like it. So, um, particularly when the tyres are going off, it's uh you really have to manage that, and I think to be honest, that's just experience. This is a really experienced field and a really talented grid as well. So we've kind of gone in very much at the deep end with very limited testing to begin with. So I've kind of been doing my testing throughout the year, which is obviously not ideal, but it's been uh a high pressure environment that has been quite good to learn in, really. So, yeah, it's been it's been great getting to grips with the car. It's a shame, really, that what I've learned probably can't be taken fully into next year, obviously, because the car's changing, but I'm sure there will be a lot of crossover.
SPEAKER_01So what a lot of people may not realise is that uh how difficult these cars can be to drive, they can get quite lairry at the back, can't they? I mean, getting up to about 80% towards the edge is not that difficult, relatively speaking. But that last 20%, that last 10% is incredibly hard.
SPEAKER_00It is a particularly round a circuit like this. Brands GP out the back, very narrow, not much runoff, the barrier's very close, and there are all the corners of blind. So, actually, you know, round somewhere like Silverstone, it's a lot easier to get that last 20% than it is round somewhere like here. So it's uh yeah, I mean I I feel more at home in the car with every lap that I do. It's just a shame that the season has almost come to an end, really. I know I say it every weekend, I'm always like that the last race is always the one where I feel most comfortable, which is a shame we never have one more or fourth race. But uh, yeah, it's I think it's uh it's a good point to finish the season. Um, to be fair, I'm glad that it's kind of come to an end because at least now I can look forward to next year, put plans in place and hopefully be a little bit more prepared for 2027. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01I mean uh PH class finish here at uh at Brands Hatch, a learning year. You take all of that experience with you now to to review during the winter and start to build hopefully a campaign in the 9-11 for 2027.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that would be fabulous. It's uh to be honest, a lot of it is just the budget, so I'm going to be working hard over the winter to try and make that happen. Um it didn't come together very easily this year, so I'm hoping perhaps you know, for next year it's a little bit easier. But I well, obviously the job is never easy for every driver on the grid, it's difficult. But uh yeah, I think I've learnt a lot, and if I could get some proper testing in before the season starts, I think that would go a very, very long way to actually helping me out throughout the year. I think we have certainly been up against it in terms of mileage in the car, and that's nobody's fault apart from the fact that I, you know, I didn't bring it together early enough. So hopefully, if I can make a change and make it a little bit earlier next year, I should be a bit more prepared.
SPEAKER_01Testing is a is a point that you make that's really important right across all of the championships on the Tokyo passage from the package from the the touring cars to F4 to the Legends to the Minis, testing time, seat time to get more comfortable with the car is the critical bit. And that's that's the bit which costs money before you even turn a wheel in anger in a race, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yes, it is, and to be honest, there's no substitute for seat time. It's you can't. I've got a sim at home and it is great, but it doesn't replicate it at all, and there's no risk element on the sim at home. The worst that you can do is turn it off and go back out and get a cup of tea with this. Obviously, the real game is a lot harder. So, yeah, I do I do need some proper tests, and particularly when you look at all your competitors and they're out, you know, pre-season and then they've used all of their test days throughout the year. I I certainly haven't. I didn't even do the the official Porsche days to my full advantage just because I couldn't afford to. So it really does put you on the back foot and it does it does look like just one test day, but the amount of valuable information you get from that one test day is really important. So to uh to go into next year, hopefully with those test days, I'm sure will make the job a lot easier.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. And and just finally, uh you have a huge following on social media, you have a lot of young girls who follow what you do and and follow your success, and you're setting an example for them, you're an inspiration possibly to them. What would you say to them, you know? Because it's it's important that they see opportunities for themselves as well.
SPEAKER_00Well that's really kind. I think uh to be honest, I I I don't think of it that way, but I I I guess it's just not just young girls, but anybody really that wants to get into motorsport. I think for me the biggest barrier has been the budget, and I want to prove that that shouldn't be a barrier. And I hope that you know the younger generation almost sees someone that is, you know, can't really afford to be here and still making it happen. And I I just want to kind of I guess send a message that don't give up, and if it even feels impossible like it did a week before Media Day, there are very kind people out there that will help you along the way as long as you're you know try and be as nice as you can, good karma comes your way.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Where can people get more information and get in touch with you if they want to be part of your journey in 2027?
SPEAKER_00Well, I would love to chat to anyone that would love to be a part of the journey. So I have a website, liziawarmseyracing.co.uk, and I'm on all social media, super easy to find me. But you know, the the benefits of being partnered with someone like me on on the championship is uh is great. I mean we've got ITB for coverage. We are also supporting the World Endurance Championship next year at Silverstone, so that will be a fantastic event as well, alongside the touring cars too. So yeah, it'll be a fantastic season for sure.
SPEAKER_01Just pause, and if you just want to do your thing, please.
SPEAKER_00You will have to cut out that's really bad. And I just want to say a huge thank you to all of my partners that have got here got me here. Let me do that again as well. I just want to say a huge thank you to all of my partners that have got me here. You know, without each and every one of them, I wouldn't have been at the track, but I've had a huge amount of track size support this weekend, particularly from Phoenix Bray, who have actually travelled, I believe, to every single race circuit. So huge commitment from them. So thanks so much.
